Dig a little deeper to understand why their war experiences were so important to the Sunday Punchers that, 50 years later, they invested time and resources to visit the country that they once hated. These three accounts provide the answers to that question.

LT Jerry Mullins of Attack Squadron 75 (VA-75) narrates film he personally recorded in 1972-73. He documents USS Saratoga flight operations and bombing missions against targets across Vietnam. “A-6 at War” offers a unique, in-depth look at the rhythm of daily operations of a carrier air wing at sea.

LT Paul Hvidding and LTJG Jay Swigart recorded bombing missions and carrier operations with Super 8mm cameras. “Sunday Punchers 1972-73” formed the basis for telling the story of VA-75’s contributions to ending the war.

Launch the Intruders is the authoritative account of the Sunday Punchers’ participation in Operation Linebacker in 1972-73. Written by Carol Reardon, Penn State history professor, and published in 2006.
